Road Transport
IIAT provide non-invasive, thorough assessments of critical components in road transport vehicles. Our inspection and analytics systems enables us to detect potential issues before they become a major breakdown and/or safety risk to your people and business and other road users.
By utilising Infrared and Ultrasound analysis, we are able to identify thermal anomalies in engine exhaust lagging, brakes, wheel bearings, tires and hubs, and inaudible air leaks in the air braking systems, reducing downtime, and extending the lifespan of your components.
IIAT is proactive not reactive.
Large trucks have a higher rate of deaths per 1,000 fires than highway vehicle fires overall. Tires play a larger role in large truck and bus fires than in car fires.

Benefits of Condition Monitoring for Road Transport Vehicles.
Condition monitoring is revolutionising vehicle maintenance and safety offering numerous advantages for road transport operations. Here are some key benefits:
Enhanced Safety
Regular infrared and ultrasound inspections help ensure that all vehicle systems are functioning properly. By identifying potential or active issues early, our inspections help you to significantly reduce the risk of accidents on the road, and enhance the safety of your drivers. Our condition monitoring services provide detailed reports and visual data, allowing you to make informed decisions about maintenance and repairs. This documentation is valuable for compliance and other record keeping.
Increased component life and reliability
IIAT’s Infrared and ultrasound inspections allow for the identification of potential problems before they escalate and majorly disrupt operations. By detecting temperature variations and air leaks, we can pinpoint issues preventing costly breakdowns and repairs. Regular inspections help maintain optimal performance, extending the lifespan of your components.
Decrease Downtime
Infrared and ultrasound inspections are non-invasive, and can be performed without dismantling components. This results in minimal disruption to operations and allows for inspections to be conducted during routine maintenance or downtime. By identifying problems before they fail and carrying out proactive maintenance, we assist you in avoiding expensive repairs and vehicle downtime. Addressing issues proactively leads to a more efficient maintenance schedule, reducing overall operational costs.
Integrating infrared thermography and ultrasound analysis into your road transport maintenance program is a predictive and proactive approach that enhances safety and efficiency, leading to significant long-term savings.

RH Side

- POS 6 & 7 – Critical and POS 5 & 8 – Abnormal
- The maintenance supervisor was notified immediately. We had found that the final drives were low on oil, and prolonged operation under these conditions could have led to premature failure.
There were none of these final drives available in the country and if unchecked this fault would have caused major unplanned downtime and repair costs.
